Dicentrarchus labrax

It is a fish with an elongated, very stylized body, with a large mouth and a lower jaw longer than the upper one. It has lead grey colour with sides ranging from silver blue, pale gold or bronze.

It lives in depths between 10 and 100 m. It feeds on small and medium-sized fish, crustaceans and squid.

It is a fish that can reach 103 cm in length and 12 kg in weight.

Its spawning season goes from January to March.

It is captured with different gear: Dragnet, trammel, fixed gillnets and longline.

Its meat is very tasty.
