BLACK SEABREAM
Its elliptical body is long and flat, with a small head and mouth, a pointed face and large eyes. It is grey on the back and lead-grey colour on the sides.
It lives mainly on the seabed and the lower part of the marine environment on rocky bottoms, with algae or sand at a depth between 5 and 300 m. It feeds on benthic invertebrates and sometimes also on algae.
It is a fish that can reach lengths of up to 50 cm and 3 kg of weight.
It is captured with different gear: Dragnet, fixed gillnets, trammel and longline.
Its meat is highly appreciated.
